Hi Reader, Yesterday officially marked 8 years of My Quiet Kitchen! 🥳 To celebrate, I decided to create a new cake recipe. I know how much y'all love an oil-free dessert, and since it is apple season, I thought an applesauce cake made sense. But I wanted to make it a bit more exciting than just a simple spiced cake, since it's a celebration and all. That's when I started thinking about apples, walnuts, and brown sugar, and realized I should also turn the whole thing upside-down! I hope you enjoy this cake as much as Mark and I did this week (shhhh, we ate TWO all by ourselves; it's only an 8-inch single layer, though). 😅 Applesauce Cake

Hi Reader, I'm surprised this recipe didn't happen sooner considering how much I love both chili and cornbread. Over the past week I made this casserole twice, back-to-back, and we enjoyed every single bite! I love that it's easy to customize, so satisfying, and reheats beautifully. I hope you love it, too! Hi Reader, Are you a pie person? I wasn't really, until I figured out how to make an easy, more wholesome kind of pie crust. 🙌 While I’m not above grabbing a vegan-friendly store-bought crust in a pinch, I have to admit, making your own is definitely more satisfying! Over the years I’ve developed a few “not-so-traditional” crusts — from my go-to almond flour version to a nut-free spin with sunflower seeds, and even a cozy press-in crust that tastes like oatmeal cookies. I’ve shared a few...
Hi Reader, I've made vegan pecan pie all kinds of ways over the years. So I decided it was time for some bars, and I wanted them to be oil-free, similar to this pecan pie recipe. But I also wanted them to taste more decadent, with an extra gooey and sweet filling that will wow whoever you decide to share them with this holiday season. I wasn't prepared to find these as irresistible as I did! I've made them twice in the past week, and ate more than I care to admit. 😅 With just 11 ingredients...
