Hi Reader, Are you a pie person? I wasn't really, until I figured out how to make an easy, more wholesome kind of pie crust. π While Iβm not above grabbing a vegan-friendly store-bought crust in a pinch, I have to admit, making your own is definitely more satisfying! Over the years Iβve developed a few βnot-so-traditionalβ crusts β from my go-to almond flour version to a nut-free spin with sunflower seeds, and even a cozy press-in crust that tastes like oatmeal cookies. Iβve shared a few notes about each one below, plus some of my favorite pies to pair them with. βBest Vegan GF Pie CrustβSince publishing this recipe in 2019, I've heard from people around the world who have made it and now love it as much as I do. It's not just that it's gluten-free, vegan, and oil-free, I think the thing that surprises people the most is that something this EASY actually tastes so good!
A few ways to use it:Save it on Pinterest:
βSunflower Seed Pie CrustβWhen the almond flour crust started getting a lot of attention, naturally I started hearing from people who wanted an almond-free option. That's when this seed pie crust was born. You can pre-bake it to use with no-bake fillings, or use it for pretty much any baked pie recipe.
βOatmeal Pie CrustβThis one is perfect for no-bake pie fillings, like the tofu cheesecake pictured above, vegan key lime pie, chocolate pie, etc. Think of it like a substitute for graham cracker crust. The recipe calls for vegan butter, but you can even swap it for applesauce for a fat-free (or at least very, very low-fat) crust. π
βBlack Cocoa Pie CrustβThis is essentially a chocolate version of that original vegan GF crust. Using black cocoa powder gives it a slight Oreo flavor. It's delicious in this fluffy peanut butter cream pie.

Hi Reader, I've made vegan pecan pie all kinds of ways over the years. So I decided it was time for some bars, and I wanted them to be oil-free, similar to this pecan pie recipe.
